Shuhei Abe
President & CEO, SPARX Group Co., Ltd.
Shu established the SPARX Group in 1989, four years after setting up the Abe Capital Research boutique for American and European institutional investors. He is widely recognized as of one the top investment professionals in the Japanese financial industry. Previously, he worked at Nomura Securities International in New York following stints at Nomura Securities and Nomura Research Institute in Tokyo. Shu graduated from Japan’s Sophia University with a B.A. in economics in 1978 and later earned an MBA from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He enjoys fine wine, cigars and the prized electric guitars that decorate his office in Tokyo. |

Thomas Naughton
Chief Investment Officer for Equity, PMA Investment Advisors Ltd.
Tom Naughton is Chief Investment Officer in charge of equity strategy at PMA Investment Advisors Ltd., a Hong Kong-based institutional asset management firm and part of SPARX Group. Prior to joining PMA, Tom worked for Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) Ltd., the U.K.’s second largest private pension fund. He has been a portfolio manager since 1995 and focuses exclusively on Asia ex-Japan. Tom graduated from University College London with a B.Sc. (Hons) in mathematics and economics and is an associate member of the U.K. Society of Investment Professionals. |

Tadahiro Fujimura
Head of Research and Senior Fund Manager, SPARX Asset Management Co. Ltd.
Tad joined SPARX Japan as a fund manager in 1999. He is head of the Investment & Research Department, as well as responsible for overseeing the Japanese Small and Mid Cap Strategy. Prior to that, he was chief portfolio manager of the small cap investment team at Nikko Investment Trust & Management (currently Nikko Asset Management). Tad has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Tsukuba University and a MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a Chartered Member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Shun Hong Liu
Chief Investment Officer for Macro/Currency, PMA Investment Advisors Ltd.
Shun Hong is Chief Investment Officer in charge of macro/currency strategy at PMA Investment Advisors Ltd., a Hong Kong-based institutional asset management firm and part of SPARX Group Co. Ltd. Prior to joining PMA as a Senior Trader in June of 2006, Shun worked for HSBC trading currencies and interest rate-related investment products. He graduated from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance), First Class Honors. Shun is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Financial Risk Manager.

Tatsuo Yamamuro
Fund Manager, SPARX Asset Management Co., Ltd.
Prior to joining the SPARX Group in 2000, Tatsuo worked in the U.K. as a European equity fund manager. He started his career at Nikko Investment Trust & Management (currently Nikko Asset Management) in 1990 as a fund manager of Japanese index funds. Tatsuo graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo with a B.A. in 1990. He is a chartered member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan and is fluent in English and his native Japanese. |

Masakazu Takeda

Masa joined the SPARX group in 1999 after previously working in the risk management department at LTCB Warburg in Tokyo (currently UBS Securities Co.) He started his career at the Long Term Credit Bank of Japan (currently Shinsei Bank Ltd.) Masa speaks English (and Japanese) fluently after spending his high school years in Chicago, Il. He later returned to his native country where he graduated from Tokyo’s International Christian University with a B.A. in 1996. Masa is a Chartered Member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan. |

Shoichi Miyasaka
President and Chief Executive Officer, SPARX Capital Partners Co., Ltd
Shoichi joined the SPARX Group in 2001 after serving as chief financial officer of an IT start-up company. In 1998, he joined Booz Allen & Hamilton (Japan) and worked as a management consultant after 10 years at Nomura Securities Co. Shoichi’s work experience at Nomura included retail sales, IPO consulting and M&A advisory services for Wasserstein Perella & Co. in New York. He graduated from Keio University with a B.A. in 1988 and obtained an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 1995. Sho is fluent in English and his native Japanese. |

Chester Dawson

Chester joined SPARX in 2006 after working as International Finance Editor at BusinessWeek magazine in NY. Previously, he served as foreign correspondent in Tokyo for BusinessWeek and before that worked as a reporter for Dow Jones & Co., The Associated Press and Bloomberg News. Chester earned a M.A. from Harvard University in 1993. He graduated from Ohio University with a B.A. after spending his junior year abroad at Sophia University in Tokyo. His first book, Lexus: The Relentless Pursuit, was published in 2004 by Wiley and his latest literary pursuit, Frommer's Japanese Phrasebook and Culture Guide, was published in 2008. |
